A collection of poetry for daughters, future daughters and women about how to heal and survive.
This is going to be short review and that is because I do not have the words to describe this other than deep and powerful. I wasn’t expecting much and that is because its been a hit and miss for me with poetry; mostly because I am not at a point in my life where I am sad nor am I obsess or desperate about love and being in love (long statement I know).
But anyway, this book, this poetry moved me so much. To say I am not an emotional fragile woman at this moment, would be a lie. The words were so honest but followed so beautifully without the fillers and the whimsical ideas. It reminded me of my past and made me feel for my future. It also made me think of mom a lot, which is the purpose but I really thought about my mom and who she was before kids.
I love this book and although I go it for kindle unlimited, I have every intentions of buying it for my library. I fell for this book and I think each time I read it I will learn something new about myself, women and my mom.
Powerful…powerful read I would recommend to all women for themselves and their daughters.

This book . . . . Yo . . . This book is a must read by any person on this earth that loves murder, suspense, magic and some sex. From beginning to end this was a perfect read and I am so pleased with it, I am buying a physical copy when the book is released. So shoutout to Netgalley for the introduction and thank you St. Martin’s Griffin for the approval.
So let me begin to say that the book is more about Marlowe than both women. Lucy gets her shine but as it is mentioned by one of the characters in the book, Marlowe was the last one to see Eddie, therefore more shine is on her.
Marlowe is a complex, indecisive woman who doesn’t listen to anyone other than her heart and body. I loved her. She was woman from beginning to end. Realistic, honest, smart and although she didn’t always know what she wanted if she made a decision she followed through. I can’t even talk bad about her character development because although it really wasn’t there, it wasn’t needed. The entire story-line didn’t take years not even months.
Lucy was a surprising character because from the beginning you know something is off but when you find out you’re like whoa. Lucy may have not been as complicated as Marlowe (which is cool) but she played her role very well. I have a love hate relationship for her. Even after everything was said and done, I wanted to slap her but then give her a hug. I thought she was selfish and I didn’t trust her; still do not trust her.
The ending of the book was simple. Simple in the sense that no questions was left unanswered, no lingering what if statements either. You know exactly where everyone stands and you do not need anything more than that.
This was a quick read and it was quick because it was so freaking good. It was detailed without doing too much. It had a obvious mystery but everything that happened to get it solved was unpredictable. It was sexy . . . very very sexy. I laughed during this book, my gut twisted during this book, I broke out in sweat reading this book.
Again, The Real Mrs. Price is a highly recommended read. I cannot wait to see what this author does next.
Poetry is an acquired taste; some people either love it or hate. I am one of those who love it. It is intense emotion in a few lines and for me poetry makes me feel human.

What or who inspired you to write?
Inspiration dictates and I scribe.
Was there anything you were doing, such as a job or schooling before you published your first work? Has writing always been a part of your life?

I owned a consulting firm within the financial services industry. Yes, writing has always been a part of my life and I started writing poetry around 10 years ago.
What was your thought process when you was writing this book?
There was no thinking. This book is pure inspiration from start to finish and there were many times I woke up during the night to capture the inspiration that went into For The Love Of I. I only write when inspired because as soon as I start thinking the flow of inspiration is blocked and nothing comes.
Finally, what do you want the reader to know about you after reading your book?
That I am grateful for all our worlds colliding.
Also that For The Love Of I is a reference book that can be picked up at any time and you can be inspired to open any random page where hopefully the right and perfect thing for you will be presented.
And lastly that For The Love Of I encompasses who I am on so many levels so having read some or all of it you will have an idea about what lives in my heart which is a very special place for me.

A group of friends living in the middle of New York City have to deal with beauty standards but in a completely different way. Barb is a strikingly beautiful costume designer but makes herself ugly in hopes of finding true love. Lily, (apparently) is ugly and although she is an amazing artist she cannot find love.
Between discovering the beauty within themselves and they love they desperately desire, a murder needs to be solved.
Beautiful and amazing title. Even after reading this book, I still cannot get over how power this title is.
But I cannot say that the book was as powerful as the words that caught me. Barb is so not a woman I would like and its not because of her beauty but because she feels that it is okay to call men out on the shallowness but not her own. Yea, she is shallow; her reasons for “becoming ugly” aren’t the same reasons she is doing it now.
I have another issue with this book because the author describes Lily as so ugly surgery wouldn’t even help her.

I am so bothered by the descriptions of women and just love in general that I couldn’t get past it. Do I think the author is bringing something original to the literature world? Yes, I really do. Do I wish it was written in a way where I didn’t feel some type of way about the characters? Yes, I do.
As much as I wanted to get into this book. I couldn’t. It breaks my heart.
